About Wynterra

I'm not a fabricator. Here's why that matters.

I spent my career in manufacturing — factories, machine shops, paint shops. Engineering, project management, operations. I've run projects worth more than $10 million, and I've been the point person rolling out new systems to 400 people at a time.

That last part is where Wynterra comes from. When you're the one bringing new software onto a plant floor, you learn something most software companies never do: software only helps if people buy in. If it isn't dead simple, the crew won't use it. Half the time the owner won't either. And then the "system" becomes one more thing everyone works around, and the real business goes back to paper, whiteboards, and phone calls.

But the other half of that lesson matters just as much: without the data, you're guessing. Most of the decisions that keep a business alive come down to money — what a job really costs, what it really made, what's sitting unpaid. You can't manage what you can't see.

So everything we build follows one rule: easy enough that the crew actually uses it, sharp enough that the owner finally sees the numbers.

Why countertop shops?

A close friend of mine runs an ironworking company. I built him a system to run his jobs, and I watched what it did for his business. Not long after, I had countertops installed in my own home — great work, done by people who knew their trade. And watching the job from the customer's side, I saw how much effort it takes to keep quotes, schedules, crews, and updates straight when the only tools a shop has are phone calls, paper, and memory.

That's not a knock on any shop — those are just the tools this trade has been handed. Skilled people running serious operations deserve better ones. I knew how to build them.

I'm not a fabricator or an installer, and I won't pretend to be one. What I know is how operations run, how crews work, and how to build systems people actually use. That's why Wynterra Stone is built alongside real shops — around the way the trade actually works, not the way an office thinks it should.

The team

Wynterra is two people: an engineer who has spent his career running projects, crews, and operations — and a software developer with more than 15 years building systems that don't fall over.

We're based in Massachusetts, building for shops in the Northeast first.
